Growing dreams into reality: the Eden Greenfields story

Eden Greenfields began as a vision shared between two passionate advocates for sustainable agriculture, Shirley and Charles Mambadzo. What started as conversations about transforming Namibia's food system has blossomed into a leading agribusiness that bridges the gap between traditional farming wisdom and innovative agricultural solutions.

Since our establishment, we have remained steadfast in our commitment to transforming the way food is grown, shared, and enjoyed. Embracing sustainable and innovative agricultural practices, we work tirelessly to build a food system that supports food security, enhances nutrition, and promotes socio-economic well-being, all whilst caring for our planet.

Our journey has been one of continuous growth and meaningful partnerships. We cultivate a variety of nutritious food plants using organic methods that respect both nature and the communities we serve. From our first base at Farm Wilhelmstal in Karibib, our work has expanded across Namibia and even reached international partners in Germany, demonstrating the universal appeal of regenerative agriculture.

Our Story

In November 2018, Eden Greenfields embarked on its journey towards sustainable agriculture by initiating training sessions for community members. The training focused on organic farming practices, including the use of organic seeds, pesticides, and fertilisers. This foundational year was pivotal in building relationships and establishing the groundwork for future projects.

The year 2019 marked a significant expansion for Eden Greenfields. Building on the previous year's training, the organisation was introduced to a farmland owner in Wilhelmstal, where we successfully set up a garden. This was a critical step in demonstrating the practical application of sustainable farming techniques. As the year progressed, Eden Greenfields also began increasing input sales, reinforcing its role as a key player in the agricultural sector.
